TRANSPORT
TRANSPORT
Our Transport Support helps participants get to where they need to be, safely and comfortably, so they can stay connected with their community and maintain their everyday routines.
Transport may be provided by a support worker using their own vehicle, or in one of our wheelchair-accessible vehicles for participants who require specialist access. This ensures participants with mobility needs can still attend appointments, activities and social outings with confidence and dignity.
Support workers do more than just drive. They provide assistance before, during and after travel, including helping participants prepare to leave home, offering physical assistance where required, and providing support at the destination.
Activities we assist with transport for NDIS participants might include attending medical or allied health appointments, going shopping, visiting family and friends, attending community events, or participating in group activities with other disability service providers.
Transport support is flexible and tailored to each participant’s goals, routines and preferences, in line with their approved NDIS support plan. Whether it is supporting everyday errands or enabling participation in meaningful social and recreational activities, our focus is on helping participants feel safe, supported and included.
Transport can include both transport in standard vehicles, as well as transport in specialised vehicles designed for specific types of wheelchairs. We offer both standard and wheelchair accessable transport in the Albury-Wodonga region. Our Wagga Wagga and South Brisbane offices are equipped for standard transport only.
ACCESS TO THE COMMUNITY
Our Access to the Community support focuses on helping participants engage in social, recreational and everyday community activities.
This support is designed to reduce isolation and encourage meaningful participation in community life. Support workers may assist participants to go shopping, attend appointments, visit cafés, participate in hobbies, attend events, or take part in group programs and activities run by Abundant Life Support Services or by other providers.
Support can be provided one-on-one or in small group settings, depending on the participant’s preferences and goals, and in line with their approved supports under their NDIS or My Aged Care plan. Our approach is flexible and person-centred, with activities tailored to suit individual interests, abilities and routines.
By supporting participants to access their community, we aim to build confidence, strengthen connections, and support a fuller, more active and more abundant life.
